Pakistan’s National cricket team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has announced that he will start bowling from the upcoming week after the recent injury.

Speaking at a PSL franchise, Lahore Qalandars, event in Lahore, Afridi said that the injury was not serious.

“There is swelling, but it will heal. My rehab is ongoing, and the PCB team is monitoring it. I will start bowling next week,” he stated.

Observers suggest that this may indicate a higher chance of him performing in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Further commenting on team matters, he said that it is not necessary that Babar Azam score a fifty in every match.

He further added that Pakistan has scored well in the past.

Talking about the Lahore Qalandars, Afridi praised the Lahore Qalandars’ nationwide trials.

He also added that playing a series in Sri Lanka before the World Cup would be beneficial.

Speaking regarding nurturing young talent in the country, he said that he had taken feedback from coaches.

He stated, “These kids are the stars of our future, and we have to look at the bowlers for the PSL.”

Afridi expressed great confidence in the team’s PSL campaign. Adding that the Qalandars aim to provide talented cricketers to Pakistan while competing for the title.
