In a big hit to the already overburdened Pakistanis, the prices of chicken meat have reached sky-high in the country.
Chicken is a basic item in every household. Even a slight increase makes a huge impact on people who struggle to make ends meet.
The prices have been hiked massively in the recent past and it has become tough for low-income families to afford basic items.

Chicken shortage could occur soon: poultry industry warns
The poultry industry has warned that a chicken shortage may occur in the coming months due to heavy taxes on producers.
Asif Gondal, General Secretary of Broiler Farms, said the industry is facing a serious crisis.
He said taxes on chicken and related products have reached around 65 per cent.
Adding, he said, maintaining supply is already difficult during shortages.
He warned that higher taxes could make chicken almost unavailable in the market within two months.
Asif Gondal said the cost of a chick is less than Rs20, but producers pay about Rs10 in tax per chick.
He said these taxes have pushed the poultry industry to the brink.
He urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the situation. He warned that the crisis could be worse than previous shortages.
