The international market was under pressure due to a strong dollar, as investors awaited a key US jobs report later this week to gauge the Federal Reserve’s policy path.

Spot gold was down to $4,435 per ounce after losing 0.4 percent.

Traders were also closely watching rising geopolitical tensions, including possible US intervention in Venezuela, alongside macroeconomic signals from the United States.

The dollar remained strong near a more than two-week high amid market positioning around several US labour market data releases scheduled for this week.
