Samsung may be planning a major charging upgrade for its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to the reports regarding the new leaks.
It is expected that the company may increase the wired charging speed from 45W on the Galaxy S25 Ultra to 60W on the new flagship.
According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung has internally tested the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the 60W setup.
In controlled tests, the phone reportedly charged from 0 per cent to 75 per cent in just 30 minutes, according to the details.
However, real-world speeds may vary depending on temperature, usage, and accessories, as most batteries do.
The upgrade would be Samsung’s biggest charging improvement in years.
Despite it having the premium status, Samsung has lagged behind rivals in charging speed.
OnePlus 15 supports 80W wired charging, while brands like Oppo, Xiaomi, and Honor often exceed 100W.
Moving to 60W would make Samsung more competitive. This is especially against OnePlus, which has a significant presence in the US market.
Reports from WinFuture suggest the charging boost may be limited to the Ultra model.
The Galaxy S26 Plus could remain at 45W, and the standard Galaxy S26 may stay at 25W.
By reserving the 60W upgrade for the top-tier model, Samsung seems to encourage users to choose the more expensive Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Earlier reports from the German site WinFuture suggested that charging speeds would vary across the Galaxy S26 series.
The Galaxy S26 Plus may keep 45W charging, while the standard Galaxy S26 could remain at 25W.
