On Sunday, January 11, PTI rioters started attacking the police in Bagh-e-Jinnah, Karachi. The supporters were seen pelting stones at the police.

The police officers who were doing their jobs peacefully protecting both the protestors and the residents of Karachi were attacked by PTI rioters.

Two police workers on duty have also been injured due to stone pelting by PTI supporters.

Police were also able to recover tear gas shells from PTI supporters.

The workers were also seen attacking a police mobile van at Bagh-e-Jinnah.

The rioters were also seen vandalising a media van and injuring the van driver. This was a blatant attack on media persons trying to cover the rally.

Some of the rioters were arrested by the police but were released.

It is also important to note that this is a handful of rioters who have gathered. Overall, the Bagh-e-Jinnah ground remains empty, and no workers have arrived.

The PTI rally has flopped; the party failed to mobilise the public in Karachi. What they did succeed in was making the lives of Karachi residents hard. They have caused several traffic jams, which have increased difficulties for daily commuters.

By 8 pm on Sunday, the PTI rally had only 700 to 800 PTI workers present at Bagh-e-Jinnah as revealed by police sources. The rally has been a big flop for PTI. The only success they have achieved today is making the lives of Karachi residents hard.

The rally has also shown the proof of PTI’s growing unpopularity across Pakistan.

People have also pointed out the economic and political situation in KP, saying that the KP Chief Minister is in Karachi for political point scoring while the province he is supposed to govern is burning.
