At least four militants were killed after clashes erupted between two rival militant factions in the Tirah Valley.
The confrontation reportedly took place between members of Jamaat al-Ahrar and a rival faction, ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’, over control of territory and disputed resources, including narcotics.
The exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of four individuals identified locally as Tayeb, Salman alias Sudais alias Asad, Saqi alias Shafiq, and Dewana.
Residents of the area said that such infighting has become increasingly common, as rival factions continue to clash over influence and resources. Similar armed confrontations between militant groups have been reported in the region in the past.
Local people expressed concern that these internal conflicts are severely affecting the daily lives and safety of ordinary citizens. However, residents also voiced confidence in ongoing actions by state institutions aimed at restoring peace and stability in the area.
