Capcom has shared fresh gameplay details for Resident Evil Requiem. The company has teamed up with major brands, including ‘Porsche’ and ‘Hamilton’. The company says the game will feature two main characters with different play styles, allowing players to experience the story from contrasting perspectives.
Release of the game
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on 27 February 2026. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game will also be playable through GeForce NOW, with enhanced visual features for high-end PC systems.
Stages of the release
Capcom confirmed that the game will be released in two editions. The ‘Deluxe Edition’ includes five costumes, weapon skins, charms, and visual filters. All pre-orders will receive an exclusive outfit for Grace. A ‘Premium Steelbook Edition,’ featuring deluxe content and a limited-edition lenticular card, will be released in limited numbers.
Game overview
According to Capcom, players will take control of Federal Bureau of Intelligence (FBI) analyst Grace Ashcroft and a Division of Security Operations (DSO) agent Leon Kennedy. The game allows players to switch between first-person and third-person views at any point.
Leon’s gameplay focuses on action. He uses a range of weapons and can perform close-range attacks with a new hatchet. His sections are designed to be faster-paced, with a stronger emphasis on combat.
Grace’s storyline leans more towards survival horror. She begins the game inside a zombie-infested sanatorium, where players must carefully choose when to fight and when to avoid enemies. She starts with limited supplies and inventory space, and Capcom says player choices will have lasting effects.
Grace also carries a powerful assault revolver, but ammunition is scarce, forcing players to use it sparingly.
Capcom says zombies in Resident Evil Requiem will behave in unexpected ways linked to their past lives. Some continue daily routines, such as cooking, singing, or cleaning. These patterns can be observed and used by players to plan their moves.
