Ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 players’ auction, information has been revealed regarding the new categories that have been proposed for local players with several significant promotions and demotions across franchises.
According to sources, Islamabad United’s Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and Naseem Shah will remain under the Platinum category. Sahibzada Farhan has been promoted to Gold while Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Nawaz have been promoted to Platinum from Diamond category.
Wicketkeeper – batter Azam Khan has moved down from Diamond to Gold.
In Karachi Kings camp Hasan Ali has been promoted from Diamond to Platinum and Abbas Afridi has been demoted from Platinum to Diamond. In the meanwhile Khushdil Shah, Aamir Jamal have fallen from Diamond to Gold, Arafat Minhas from Gold to Silver. Shan Masood falls under Diamond category.
For Lahore Qalandars, star players Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf are continuing in the Platinum category. Salman Mirza has been promoted from Gold to Diamond and Mohammad Naeem has risen from Emerging to Silver.
As per sources, Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar Azam and Saim Ayub have been retained in Platinum while Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Ali have been dropped from Diamond to Gold.
At Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan is still in Platinum while Usama Mir and Iftikhar Ahmed shifted from Platinum to Diamond. Mohammad Hasnain shifted from Diamond to Gold and Akif Javed has come up from Silver to Gold.
For Quetta Gladiators, Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Amir are still in Platinum and Abrar Ahmed has been promoted from Diamond to Platinum. In addition, Wasim Jr. has been promoted from Gold to Diamond as well as Usman Tariq who was promoted from Silver to Diamond, and Khawaja Nafi and Hasan Nawaz have been placed in Gold.
These adjustments have set an eventful PSL 11 auction.
