Gold price in Pakistan surges above Rs500,000 per tola

Gold rates in Pakistan continued their upward trend for the third consecutive trading session on Wednesday.

The price of gold in the local market increased by Rs12,700 per tola, taking the rate to Rs506,362 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA).

The price of ten gramme gold rose by Rs10,888 to reach Rs434,123.

In the previous trading session on Tuesday, gold prices had increased by Rs4,300 per tola. On Monday, the price recorded a rise of Rs7,500 per tola.

Overall, gold prices in Pakistan have climbed by Rs24,500 per tola over three trading sessions since the start of the week.

Gold prices have also risen sharply since the beginning of 2026. The precious metal closed 2025 at Rs456,962 per tola. Since the start of January 2026, gold prices in the local market have increased by around Rs49,400 per tola.

International market

Gold prices in the international market surged to a record high above $4,800 per ounce, as investors turned to the metal as a safe haven. The move came amid a broad sell-off in US assets, driven by rising tensions between the US and NATO over Greenland.

Spot gold climbed 2.6 percent to $4,885.11 per ounce after touching a record high of $4,887.82 earlier in the session. US gold futures for February delivery also rose 2.6 percent to $4,888.20 per ounce.
