WhatsApp is developing group voice and video call support for its web client, a move that would allow users to take part in calls directly through a browser without installing a desktop app.
The feature is still under development, but it is expected to bring the web version closer to the experience already offered on mobile and desktop platforms.
According to WABetaInfo, the update is under development yet and is not available for testing right now. The feature would make it possible for users to join group calls regardless of the device they are using. This could be particularly useful for people accessing WhatsApp on shared or temporary computers.

Group calling on WhatsApp Web
WhatsApp has been working for some time to introduce calling features to its web client. Recent updates to the WhatsApp Web beta suggest that voice and video calls for group chats are now being actively developed.
WhatsApp is refining the feature to ensure it works smoothly across devices, so that participants using phones, tablets, desktops, or browsers can all join the same call.
As with WhatsApp’s mobile apps, group calls on the web are expected to come with limits. Early indications suggest support for up to 32 participants, although the company has not confirmed this. WhatsApp may begin with a smaller limit and increase it over time.
Call links and scheduling features
Alongside group calling, WhatsApp is also developing call links and call scheduling for the web client. Call links would allow users to generate a shareable link for voice or video calls directly from a group chat.
The scheduling feature would let users set up calls in advance, including a title, description and expected timing.
These tools are still being tested and are planned for a future update. WhatsApp has not announced a release date but says it is continuing to improve web calling features to make its service more accessible.
