Rain with gusty wind has started in Karachi on Thursday afternoon bringing a pleasant change in the weather of the provincial capital city.
According to the Meteorological Department, a westerly wind is affecting Sindh, due to which dusty strong winds and thundershowers are expected in Karachi today.
The Meteorological Department said that the intensity of cold will increase in Karachi from Friday to Sunday, during which the minimum temperature can remain at 7 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature can remain at 20 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, under the system, clouds are also likely to fall in Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Sujawal, Hyderabad and Tando Muhammad Khan areas of Sindh, while rain is expected in Tando Allahyar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Nowshera Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad.
In addition, rain is also likely in the districts of Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot and Shikarpur.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also issued high alert in the rest of the country regarding heavy rain and thunderstorms in next 24 to 48 hours.
As per details, the new system will result in rains, thunderstorms, and heavy snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, the authorities warned residents of northern areas that snow likely to hit the mountainous region during evening and night hours.
