Pakistan has secured a dominant eight-wicket victory over hosts Zimbabwe in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and booked her place in Super Six stage of the tournament.
Pakistan raising star peace blower Ali Raza has led Pakistan’s bowling attack with three wickets, while Mohammad Sayam, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar claimed two wickets each. Ahmed Hussain chipped in with one wicket as Zimbabwe struggled to build partnerships.
According to media reports, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that proved fruitful as their bowlers dismantled the Zimbabwean batting lineup.
Zimbabwe were bowled out for 128 runs in 35.5 overs, with opener Halabangana offering the only significant resistance by scoring 59 runs.
In response, Pakistan chased down the 129-run target with ease, losing only two wickets. Sameer Minhas starred with an unbeaten 74, striking three sixes and six fours in a composed and confident innings that guided Pakistan to victory.
With this win, Pakistan confirmed their qualification for the Super Six round. England have already topped Group C after winning all three of their matches, while Scotland have been eliminated with just one point from three games. Pakistan currently sit second in the group with two points, while Zimbabwe are placed fourth with one point.
Before the start of the match, the Zimbabwe captain presented a shield of honor to the Pakistani captain in a gesture of goodwill.
