Four Injured as Blast Derails Jaffar Express in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: At least four injured as explosion on a railway track near Sultan Kot in Shikarpur district, Sindh, caused four carriages of the Jaffar Express to derail.

Speaking to private media outlet, Shikarpur Deputy Commissioner Shakeel Abro said, “A blast had occurred on the train tracks at 8:15am. The incident occurred at a distance of 1km from the Sultan Kot railway station.”

He said that the blast had caused the derailment of four bogies. Abro said that seven people had been injured, out of which four had been taken to the Combined Military Hospital, while the remaining three had been taken to the Civil Hospital in Shikarpur.

Earlier, four militants were killed and two injured in a clash between locals and Indian sponsored terrorists in Balochistan’s Korki.

The sources revealed that despite repeated requests from the local tribes to vacate the area, the militants had refused to leave.

Instead, the militants started harassing local women in a complete violation of tribal and cultural norms, escalating tensions in the area.

In response to the group’s hostile actions and growing threats, local tribes decided to defend themselves against the Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists, the sources added.

“The harassment of women and the blatant disregard for local customs and Islamic values show that this group has no connection to religion or Baloch traditions,” one local elder remarked.

Security forces killed seven Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Sherani district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the ISPR, the terrorists belonged to the group “Al-Khawarij” and were involved in several terror activities in the region.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosive material were also recovered from their hideout.
