The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has expanded its services to more than 2,000 e-sahulat franchise centres across Pakistan.
According to NADRA, people can now renew their Computerised National Identity Cards or apply for replacements for lost cards at e-sahulat franchises located near their homes. This reduces the need to visit NADRA registration offices.
NADRA said a complete list of e-sahulat franchise locations is available on its official website. Citizens can use the list to find the nearest centre in their area.

The expansion is intended to improve convenience and ensure wider access to NADRA services for people across the country.
In a separate development, NADRA has also introduced a facility to apply for divorce certificates through the Pak-ID mobile application.
The service allows citizens to submit applications to their respective Union Councils from home.
Through the Pak-ID app, users can now apply for birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates without visiting offices in person.
NADRA based biometric verification system
In a major step towards improving transparency and helping to curb scams, Punjab’s courts have introduced a mandatory biometric verification system to prevent fake cases, bogus bail, and the use of false identities.
According to media reports, the implementation of the project began following the formal approval of Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Ms Aalia Neelum.
Under the issued notification, biometric verification of parties has been made mandatory in all courts across Punjab before any judicial proceedings can take place.
It has been clearly stated in the notification that the petitioners, respondents, and guarantors must undergo biometric verification in accordance with NADRA records.
Without the biometric verification being done, no petition can be filed.
Additionally, no bail or any other judicial relief will be considered without the biometric verification.
The new system will apply to both criminal and civil cases.
