The unbeaten Pakistan team defeated India by 5 runs and secured a spot in the semi-final of the ongoing F2 Double Wicket at the World Cricket Festival in Jeddah on Thursday.

Pakistan batted first and the men in green scored 56-4 in four overs with Shoaib Malik scoring a fiery 34-run knock and Imran Nazir scoring 16 runs.

In its reply the Indian batters were restricted to 51-4 and fell short of the target.

This is Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in this tournament. It had two earlier wins against Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Against the UAE, Pakistan scored a massive 82-1. Both Malik and Nazir batted very aggressively and destroyed the UAE’s bowling. During the batting the opponents lost all the wickets.

The match with Sri Lanka was tough, the Lankan lions scored 75-3 in four overs. However, Pakistan managed to chase it down and win the match.

The matches were played in the F2 Double Wicket World Cup which is central to the World Cricket Festival. The tournament is a high-intensity cricket format featuring 10 international teams with 23 action-packed matches. The tournament will last for four days.

Rules of the F2 Double Wicket World Cup

Every team consists of two players alternating bowling and batting which creates a strategic high-energy contest.

The overs in the match last between 5 and 10 overs per side which ensures an engaging and a fast paced experience.

If a batter is dismissed that does not mean that the innings will be over the partner will continue with an added penalty increasing the unpredictability of the match. The innings will only end when both batters are dismissed.
