Veteran singer Shazia Manzoor has addressed a long-standing controversy involving actress Alizeh Shah, who fell on stage during a ramp walk at Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW) 2021.
Shazia Manzoor speaks out
In a recent interview, Shazia Manzoor clarified that she did not push Alizeh Shah. “Allah di qasam, I did not push her,” she said, adding that the actress lost her balance and fell on her own. Shazia also expressed admiration for Alizeh, saying, “How could anyone have the heart to push such a beautiful girl?” She suggested that the incident might have been caused by bad luck or the “evil eye,” rather than any deliberate action.
Praise for Alizeh Shah
Shazia Manzoor also spoke warmly about Alizeh Shah, calling her “sweet” and “beautiful.” She emphasized that there was no reason for her to harm anyone and expressed affection for the actress, saying, “I love you, beta.” The singer’s comments come after years of public speculation and social media discussions about the fall.
The original video was streamed widely online. Shazia’s recent interview provides her perspective for the first time. By addressing the matter directly, she has offered clarity on a story that has remained in entertainment circles for several years.
Shazia Manzoor’s statements aim to settle lingering doubts and underline that the incident was accidental, reflecting both respect and care for her fellow performer.
Alizeh Shah’s statement on her fall
At the time, a video of the incident went viral, and Alizeh Shah accused Shazia of having deliberately caused her to fall. She mentioned that the ‘so-called senior’ did it on purpose, just to get fame. The singer did not respond publicly at the time, leaving the matter unresolved for several years.
She said, “This lady pulled me and dragged me on the floor. And then look at what she’s trying to do. I mean, why are you picking me up, lady? Just leave me alone, first of all.”
She also mentioned that, “Throughout this whole show, she had her hands on my hip. And she kept trying to make me fall. I was wearing joggers; there was no way I could fall on a ramp like that. And the weirdest thing is, this lady used to make me fall on every show to make fun of other celebrities. Jannat Mirza was included in this. And Juggan Kazim, whom I used to respect a lot at one time, did the same thing, making fun of me. So, I hope you guys can see.”
