PM announces massive cut in electricity prices

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a massive cut in electricity prices today for the industrial sector. The reduction will be Rs4 and 4 paisas in the electricity tariff for industry.

Addressing a ceremony in the federal capital held in honour of the country’s prominent exporters and business personalities, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the government’s job is not to do business, but to provide a favourable environment for it.

He said that the entire nation has sacrificed, the poor have faced hardships, now we have to move towards growth, the suggestions of the business community are welcome, and economic policies will be made after consultation with the trader community. Political and military cooperation is opening the paths for national development.

PM said that Pakistan has achieved successes on the diplomatic and defence fronts. After victory in the “Marka-e-Haq,” Pakistan has achieved a unique position in the world. After victory, during international tours, we have seen attitudes change. The Pakistani passport is now looked upon with respect worldwide.

He said that award-winning business individuals will be given blue passports. Announcing the reduction of electricity for industries by 4 rupees 4 paisa per unit, the Prime Minister said that after the “Battle of Truth,” heads of various countries came and embraced me. After the battle, the world is now listening to you; contacts are being made for investment.

He said that the privatisation of PIA was conducted in a transparent manner, as everyone saw. Privatisation will be ensured with transparency. We are bringing reforms and reducing billions in expenses.

The Prime Minister said that direct taxes should be reduced not tomorrow, but today. Indirect taxes have to be collected from consumers and deposited ahead.

He said that export-based economic growth is the focus of our attention. Significant steps are also being taken in the digital sector. The government will fully support PIA’s development. PIA will soon regain its lost position.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that with the special support of the Field Marshal, many matters have been resolved. Pakistan will become so strong that India will have panic attacks.
