In his message, Gandapur said that when he took office, the province was facing serious financial problems and threats from terrorism.
He credited his cabinet, party members, workers, the bureaucracy, and the guidance of Imran Khan for helping him bring financial stability and counter militancy.
Gandapur said his government also initiated major development projects in the province, which had previously been considered a warzone.
He thanked all colleagues, opposition members, and bureaucrats for their support and said he always served with sincerity in the best interest of Pakistan.
He added, “I may not be able to claim with certainty that I did well on all those challenges, but one thing that I can say with utmost certainty is that I served with absolute sincerity to the people of KP and always acted in the best interest of Pakistan.”
Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar told media representatives that Gandapur had been instructed to resign by Imran Khan.
Gohar said he was not authorised to accept the resignation himself and that Gandapur would submit it to the Governor. He added that Gandapur had left Islamabad for Peshawar to complete the process.
Barrister Gohar also said that there is no forward bloc within the PTI and that all 91 party members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly remain united.
During a meeting of about an hour, they discussed the matter in detail. Gohar added that Sohail Afridi will be PTI’s nominee for the Chief Minister position.
Praising Gandapur’s contributions, Barrister Gohar said he played an important role for the party and paid tribute to his services as Chief Minister.
