A heated moment unfolded at the Asma Jahangir Conference when Karachi-based artist and activist Sheema Kirmani shouted “Shut up” at Rana Sanaullah during his speech. The incident occurred when Rana Sanaullah mentioned the issue of enforced disappearances, triggering a strong reaction from the audience.
As Rana Sanaullah continued speaking, the interruption led to visible tension in the hall. Responding to the remark, he criticised the behaviour of those interrupting him, saying such reactions showed an inability to listen to opposing views and only exposed their intolerance.
The exchange quickly drew attention on social media, where clips of the moment began circulating widely. Many attendees described the atmosphere as tense, with repeated interruptions affecting the flow of the discussion.
The Asma Jahangir Conference, known for open debate on human rights and political issues, has previously witnessed sharp exchanges, but this incident once again highlighted deep divisions over sensitive topics such as enforced disappearances.

The Pakistan Army has eliminated two Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists.
These terrorists, previously falsely reported as “missing persons,” were neutralised in an operation, sending a clear message: the BLA cannot hide.
1.Burhan Baloch, son of Muhammad Jan Baloch, was sent to hell.
2.Another falsely declared “missing person,” Hafeezullah Muhammad Hasni, was also sent to hell.
Last year, the US State Department added BLA and its alias, the Majeed Brigade, to its Foreign Terrorist Organisation list.
