Imran Khan’s eye treatment to continue at specialized medical facility: Attaullah Tarar

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has stated that further examination and medical treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s eye will be conducted by ophthalmologists at a specialised medical institution as part of his ongoing medical care.

In a statement on X, Tarar said the next phase of treatment would take place at a dedicated facility equipped to handle specialised eye conditions, ensuring that Khan receives comprehensive medical attention.

He added that a detailed medical report will also be submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding the examination and treatment process.

The minister urged the public and media to refrain from spreading speculation or baseless reports about the matter.

He emphasised that attempts to politicise the issue for personal gain should be avoided, stressing the importance of responsible reporting and sensitivity surrounding medical issues.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been allowed a phone call with his sons, Kasim Khan and Suleiman Isa Khan.

Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) ordered that Imran be allowed to speak to his children.

It was ordered that both the eye inspection and the phone calls be conducted before February 16 (Monday).

Imran’s son Kasim Khan, in a post on X, termed the development “a direct consequence of solitary confinement, medical neglect.”

“We have been informed that my father, Imran Khan, has lost most of the vision in his right eye, with reports indicating that only 15pc eyesight remains,” Kasim said.
