Female students achieve top honours at AMC Convocation

Female students dominated the top honours and gold medal awards at the annual convocation of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) that took place on Tuesday.

The event’s highlight was Amna Anwar, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, who accomplished a remarkable achievement by earning 23 gold medals.

She was officially recognized as the Best Graduate of AMC. Other notable achievers included Zoha Saleem, who received 15 gold medals, and Tehreem Sana, who earned 14 gold medals, bringing great pride to both the institution and their families.

During the esteemed convocation, AMC Principal Prof Farooq Afzal offered his sincere congratulations to the graduates.

He emphasized that these degrees represent a “trust of the nation” and encouraged the young doctors to apply their knowledge in service of suffering humanity with commitment.

Prof Farooq Afzal stated that the medical profession transcends mere academic achievement,it is a sacred vocation. He highlighted that a physician’s ethical behaviour and compassion are often the most potent remedies for patients.

He also proudly mentioned that AMC alumni are currently serving as Pakistan’s representatives in the medical sectors across the USA, UK, and Europe.

During the meeting of the organizing committee, AMC and PGMI Principal Prof Dr Farooq Afzal announced that 171 graduates would receive their degrees, and 128 exceptional students would be recognized with medals for their exemplary academic achievements.
