‘No compromise on national security’: CM KP condemns provocation along Afghan border

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM), Sohail Afridi, has expressed concern over the recent tensions along the Pakistan Afghanistan border today, on Friday.

He said that the situation is being closely monitored by the provincial government.

Chief Minister Afridi emphasised that protecting every inch of Pakistan is a national duty. He also warned that no compromise will be made on the security of border areas.

He strongly condemned any provocation or external aggression along the border. CM KP Sohail Afridi stressed that national security will not be compromised.

The chief minister said the government is in continuous contact with relevant authorities about the situation.

Afridi further stated that the protection of people living in border areas is the government’s top priority.

In addition to this, necessary measures are being taken to safeguard the lives and property of residents in these districts.

He acknowledged public concerns arising from the border tensions and assured that border communities will not be left alone.

The administration has also been directed by CM KP to remain alert to respond to any emergency situation in the region.

The chief minister added that responsible conduct is essential to maintain peace and stability in the region.

DG ISPR holds press conference

DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held an important press conference today, on Friday, talking about Pakistan’s response to the unprovoked aggression from the Afghan border.

DG ISPR said that the hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij were targeted on the night of February 21 and 22.

He said that so far, 274 Khawarij have been killed and 400 have been injured. It was further informed that 73 posts have been completely destroyed, while 17 posts are occupied by the Pakistan Army.

The Prime Minister has been informed about all the progress of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.

The DG ISPR also stated that no civilians were killed in Afghanistan and that all destroyed posts were military targets involved in attacks against Pakistan.
