Pakistan stands with Iranian nation in hour of sorrow: Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari expressed grief over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and other top Iranian leaders, stating that Pakistan stands with the Iranian nation in this hour of sorrow. In his statement, the President said that Pakistan shares the grief of Iran equally.

The loss of such a great leader will be deeply felt throughout the Muslim world. He prayed that Allah grant patience and fortitude to the Iranian people during this difficult time. Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

In his statement, Prime Minister Sharif said that the government and people of Pakistan stand with their Iranian brothers and sisters in this hour of grief. He expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people over the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader.

The Prime Minister also expressed concern over violations of international law, emphasising that, according to tradition, heads of state cannot be targeted.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif chaired a key security meeting to review the regional tensions. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting. According to the report of a private media channel, Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal reviewed the regional and local situation in detail.

The meeting discussed Pakistan’s role and various measures to establish peace in the region. Both the PM and the Field Marshal also discussed the security situation in Afghanistan. The meeting was also briefed on the country’s internal situation and security arrangements.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the safety of Pakistani citizens in Iran and urged the authorities to ensure their safe evacuation from the country. The officials in the meeting confirmed that the evacuation of Pakistani citizens is underway through Azarbaijan.
