The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a new recruitment policy for 2026 concerning government jobs, which introduces significant modifications to the recruitment process.
As per the new policy, the additional marks previously awarded to candidates for their job experience have been entirely eliminated.
The official document states that candidates used to receive extra marks based on their work experience. However, this practice has been discontinued to ensure that all candidates are afforded equal opportunities.
Extra marks no longer granted in new KP policy
Similarly, the new recruitment policy has also removed the practice of granting additional marks based on academic division.
Previously, candidates were awarded extra marks depending on whether they achieved a first, second, or third division.
This system has now been abolished in an effort to enhance the transparency of the recruitment process for KP government jobs.
According to the new policy, greater emphasis will be placed on written tests and academic performance during the recruitment process.
How will marks be distributed in new policy?
The government document specifies that candidates will be allocated 70 marks for their academic achievements, 20 marks for the written examination, and an additional 10 marks for the interview, which is designed to evaluate the candidates’ personality, confidence, and professional abilities.
According to officials, the new recruitment policy aims to make the recruitment process in government institutions more transparent, merit-based and in line with modern requirements.
The KP government says that through this policy, capable and talented people will be provided better opportunities for government jobs.
According to the relevant officials, after the implementation of the new policy, there will be uniformity in the recruitment process in government institutions and candidates will be able to get opportunities only on the basis of educational qualifications and performance.
