Punjab has launched a new system for assessing practical marks in board exams to enhance transparency.
The government has revoked the power of examiners at examination centers to grant full marks in board practical examinations.
According to the new policy, practical examination marks will be split into two different components for the Punjab board exams.
The written segment of the practical exam will be evaluated directly through the central marking system of the respective educational boards.
At the same time, the examiner present at the examination center will only be permitted to assign limited marks based on students’ viva voce and their practical performance during the examination.
Which subjects will the new system be applied to?
Officials have stated that the new system will be initially applied to practical examinations for subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science.
As per the authorities, the policy will be enforced across all educational boards in the province to guarantee consistency in the examination process.
