Government employees and pensioners in all districts of Sindh have received good news, as the government has approved the advance payment of March salaries, pension and allowances to facilitate Eid-ul-Fitr preparations.

According to an official notification, all Muslim government workers will get their payments on March 16, 2026, much earlier than the usual schedule.

Officials said the decision was taken to reduce financial pressure on families during the festive season, allowing employees and retirees to manage Eid shopping, household expenses and other celebrations more comfortably. The moon of Shawwal is expected to be sighted around March 20 or 21, which would mark the start of Eid festivities.

The government said the move reflects its commitment to supporting public servants and pensioners by ensuring timely access to funds during an important religious occasion.

Meanwhile, similar relief measures have been announced at the federal level and in Punjab, where authorities have confirmed early payment of March salaries and pensions. Punjab’s Finance Department has issued written instructions to all relevant offices to complete payroll processing on time so payments can be released before the Eid holidays.

The Punjab Finance Department has issued a notification stating that all Muslim government employees will get their salaries on March 16, 2026.

According to the department, pensions will also be paid on the same day.

The salaries and pensions were recently issued earlier in March, and employees will now receive their next payments again on the 16th of the same month.

Employees and pensioners have widely welcomed the move, saying the advance payments will help them plan Eid celebrations without financial stress and meet family needs more easily.
