Pakistan’s security forces have recovered Soviet-made weapons belonging to the Afghan Taliban along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
According to sources, the forces destroyed the Afghan Taliban positions at Post-2 and Post-3. During subsequent surveillance, it was observed that weapons left behind by the fleeing Taliban were still present.
Through a covert operation, the security forces recovered these weapons. One was damaged, while the other remained in perfect condition. The recovered weapons include heavy, Soviet-made grenade launchers.
The sources revealed that on 10 March 2026 operation was launched and successfully recovered both weapons from the TTA posts.
The recovered weapons have been identified as HGL-9 73 mm heavy grenade launchers, also known as SPG-9, and are of Soviet origin. Official photographs of the recovered weapons have been released.


Meanwhile, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, in his recent message, shared an update on the ongoing military Operation Ghazb lil Haq, confirming significant losses inflicted on the Afghan Taliban.
In a message posted on X, Tarar said that 583 Afghan Taliban operatives have been killed, while more than 795 others have been injured since the start of the operation.
He further stated that 242 Afghan check posts have been destroyed, while Pakistani forces captured 38 posts during the operation.
According to the minister, 213 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns belonging to the Afghan Taliban have also been destroyed.
