Google, on Wednesday, announced the introduction of the Google AI Professional Certificate, a new credential validated by industry standards, aimed at addressing the increasing skills gap in artificial intelligence.
The program goes beyond theoretical knowledge, emphasising AI fluency and providing workers with the practical skills necessary to incorporate artificial intelligence into their everyday professional tasks, according to a news release.
Recent research conducted by Ipsos and Google indicates that while 70% of managers consider an AI-trained workforce essential for success, only 14% of employees have been offered AI training.
The new Google AI certificate aims to close that gap. The Master AI by Doing initiative is based on a “Learn by Doing” approach, featuring over 20 practical activities.
To provide learners with the best resources, enrollment includes three months of complimentary access to Google AI Pro.
This allows participants to engage directly with Google’s most advanced models using the tools they are already familiar with, such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Gemini in Google Sheets.
Which courses are included in the Google AI certificate?
The courses offered include: AI Fundamentals – Master key concepts and effective prompting; AI for Brainstorming and Planning – Develop comprehensive timelines and project plans, AI for Research and Insights – Utilize Deep Research and NotebookLM to rigorously evaluate ideas, AI for Writing and Communicating – Tailor messaging for stakeholders and prepare for presentations, AI for Content Creation – Produce high-quality visual assets, videos, and presentations, AI for Data Analysis – Create visualizations and complex formulas using Gemini in Sheets, AI for App Building – Master “vibe coding” to create custom, functional applications without writing any code.
