Bahrain has eased some visa rules due to the current regional situation and the effect of the ongoing United States (US) Israel, and Iran situation on Gulf states, according to the reports on Thursday.
The attacks have led to the cancellation or suspension of several flights since February 28.
According to Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Bahrain, for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, visit visa holders who are currently in Bahrain and whose visas expired on or after February 28, 2026, will not face fines for overstaying.
The exemption will remain in there for one month after the country’s airspace reopens.
Visitors who applied for visas before February 28 but were unable to travel due to the situation will receive a three month extension if their visas have already expired.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs said it is committed to taking steps that help travellers during the exceptional circumstances.
Authorities have also advised people to follow official channels for the latest updates.
For information, visitors have been advised to contact the NPRA call centre at 17077077, reach out through WhatsApp and the virtual assistant on official electronic channels, or they can also send an email to info@npra.gov.bh.
Officials in Bahrain have also said the country’s air defence systems have intercepted 186 drones and destroyed 112 missiles since the attacks began on February 28.
