Islamabad Traffic Police has launched an extensive, city-wide traffic plan aimed at ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and enhancing citizen convenience during Eid ul Fitr 2026.
A total of 470 traffic officers will be deployed across key city markets to uphold order and address hazardous behaviors such as drifting, performing wheelies, and reckless driving during the Eid shopping rush.
Authorities in Islamabad have issued a warning that strict measures will be enforced against anyone who does not follow the special traffic plan released for Eid.
A spokesperson for the Islamabad police has confirmed that while there will be limited enforcement visible in the markets leading up to Eid, citizens will still benefit from awareness campaigns and services designed to ensure a safe and seamless shopping experience.
“The Islamabad Traffic Police is wholly dedicated to participating in the joy of the citizens, taking every feasible step to guarantee their convenience,” stated the spokesperson.
Citizens are encouraged to park exclusively in designated areas and to fully cooperate with traffic authorities.
Any instances of reckless driving, wheelies, or drifting should be reported immediately by calling 1915 or 15.
