The Afghan Taliban launched a mortar attack on the Pakistani civilian population in the Leti Tari Pasha area of Salarzai Tehsil in Bajaur district, resulting in the martyrdom of four innocent people.
According to local sources, the shelling was carried out from across the border, and a mortar shell hit a residential house.
As a result of the incident, four people present in the house were martyred on the spot. The victims were brothers. Sources said that Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz and Moaz were among those martyred in the Afghan attack.
Sources revealed that after suffering defeats at the hands of the Pakistani Army, the Afghan Taliban began targeting civilian populations.
Four people were killed and one seriously injured when a mortar shell fired by Afghan forces hit a civilian area in Lethi, Salarzai. The injured individual was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and is currently receiving treatment, hospital sources confirmed.
There is widespread anger among the people of Bajaur over the attack by Afghan forces, according to security sources. Pakistan’s armed forces are reportedly responding decisively to these cowardly attacks by the Afghan Taliban.
On the other hand, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has shared a fresh update on the ongoing military Operation Ghazb lil Haq, confirming significant losses inflicted on the Fitna Al Khawarij, Afghan Taliban.
In a message posted on X, Tarar said that 684 Afghan Taliban operatives have been killed, while more than 912 others have been injured since the start of the operation. He further stated that 252 Afghan check posts have been destroyed, while Pakistani forces captured 44 posts during the operation.
According to the minister, 229 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns belonging to the Afghan Taliban have also been destroyed. Tarar added that 73 locations across Afghanistan have been effectively targeted through air operations, describing the strikes as part of ongoing efforts under Operation Ghazb lil Haq.
