Federal govt to pay salaries early before Eid ul Fitr

The government has announced that the federal government employees will receive their salaries before Eid ul Fitr.

According to media reports, the decision was taken on the special instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to facilitate employees ahead of the Eid holidays. Under the directive, salaries will be disbursed before the Eid ul Fitr break.

Relevant federal government departments have been issued instructions, and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the timely payment of salaries before Eid.

KP govt also announces to release salaries, pensions  

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has also decided to release salaries and pensions for government employees and pensioners ahead of Eid ul Fitr 2026.

According to an official notification issued by the provincial Finance Department, full salaries and pensions for March will be disbursed on March 16, instead of the usual payment date of April 1.

The move aims to help employees and pensioners manage their expenses and make necessary preparations for the upcoming Eid celebrations.

Punjab government also announced a similar measure to facilitate public sector employees before Eid ul Fitr. A notification from the Punjab Finance Department confirmed that Muslim government employees in the province will receive their March salaries on March 16, 2026.

The notification added that pensions will also be paid on the same date to ensure that retired government officials receive timely financial support.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has decided to run four special trains for passengers on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr 2026 at the direction of Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi.

According to a notification issued on Sunday, the first Eid special train will leave Lahore for Karachi on March 16.

The second special train will depart from Quetta for Rawalpindi on March 17. The third train will leave Karachi for Peshawar on the same day.
