After waiting for hours, the Afghan Taliban has allowed local journalists access to a site of a reported strike that the Taliban has reported.
No signs of bloodshed or major destruction were found by media teams that visited the location, according to media. The area had little structural damage and little fire impact.
Outlets such as Zawya News and Afghan Times haven’t yet verified if any casualties are related to the incident or not.
Although the Xinghua news agency had previously said the attack had been aimed at a rehabilitation facility in central Kabul, it does not appear to be the case from the ground.
Witnesses on the scene said that the explosion was from some distance from the reported location and thus, the area was left mostly unharmed.
Local sources added that the damage was limited to the immediate area of where a fire broke out with the rest of the location intact.
Some reports are that the blaze near the rehabilitation centre was small and may have been caused by an attack on a nearby Taliban military camp, where explosions and fire were observed, because of stored weapons.
In an another interesting development, an Afghan young journalist and political analyst Ahmad Sharifzada has tweeted a shocking audio message, in the viral clip, it can clearly be heard that the Afghan Taliban allegedly set the fire themselves to defame Pakistan.
Also, Afghan claims of a Pakistani strike on Kabul’s Omid Hospital are fake and contradicted by evidence.
Propaganda was done by using an old photo and misidentification of the actual target, which was Sarshar Camp Omid (a former US military installation known as Camp Phoenix), not the hospital.
Propaganda circulating by Afghan sources about a Pakistani strike against the hospital in Kabul is contradicted by provable evidence and points toward a coordinated pattern of disinformation.
