Israel has claimed that it killed Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, in overnight airstrikes on Tehran, in what could mark a major escalation in the ongoing conflict, according to the reports on Tuesday.
Israel claims Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani killed
According to Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, the strikes also targeted and killed Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Basij paramilitary force, along with other senior figures.
However, Iran has not yet confirmed either of the claims.
If verified, Larijani’s reported death would make him the most senior Iranian figure killed since the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the US Israeli war on Iran, which began on February 28.
Speaking in a televised statement, Katz said: “Larijani and the Basij commander were eliminated overnight and joined Khamenei, the head of the annihilation programme, along with all those eliminated from the axis of evil in the depths of hell,” Morocco World News reported.
Iran will defend itself, its 6,000-year-old civilisation at all costs: Ali Larijani
Iran’s security Chief and adviser to the country’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Larijani, has made it clear that Iran will defend itself and its 6,000-year-old civilisation at all costs.
He warned that any enemy would regret miscalculations
In a statement, Ali Larijani stated that Iran has not initiated a war in the past 300 years, and that its brave forces have always fought in self-defence. He also noted that Iran is already prepared for a prolonged conflict.
Is Netanyahu dead?
A new video has been posted on the official account of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and it has raised questions about the use of artificial intelligence (AI), as speculated in previous videos.
In the video, a ring on Netanyahu’s finger appears and disappears as he moves his hand.
Viewers have also noticed that the ring is visible at first, then disappears when he stretches his hand forward, and later reappears in the same place.
This has added to the speculation that artificial intelligence was used in making the video, further strengthening rumours about Netanyahu’s death.
