Eid ul Fitr holidays 2026

Provincial governments in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have officially announced public holidays for Eid ul Fitr 2026.

The Sindh government has declared March 20 and 21 as public holidays.

According to the official notification, government offices and institutions across the province will remain closed on these two days to mark the religious festival.

Meanwhile, the KP government has announced a three day holiday for Eid.

As per the notification issued by the Administration Department, holidays will be observed from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21.

This gives KP employees and citizens an extra day compared to the holidays given in Sindh.

Govt cancels Pakistan Day parade

The Government of Pakistan has cancelled the Pakistan Day parade scheduled for March 23, 2026, due to ongoing austerity measures, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

In a statement, the PMO said that the parade and related ceremonial events will not be held this year in light of the Gulf oil crisis and the need to reduce expenses.

However, the day will still be observed with dignity through simple flag hoisting ceremonies at appropriate levels.

The PMO added that the decision will be able to strengthen the nation’s resilience and commitment to the ideals of Pakistan Day while staying in line with austerity policies.
