FM Ishaq Dar engages with UK, China and UAE amid US-Iran diplomacy

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar, on Tuesday engaged in separate discussions with senior officials from the UK, China, and the UAE regarding the changing regional dynamics, as diplomatic initiatives intensified to address the conflict between Iran and the United States (US).

Since the onset of the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, Pakistan’s leadership has increased its diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions.

The Foreign Minister has conducted telephonic discussions with his counterparts from various Gulf nations and other states, highlighting the significance of de-escalation and stressing the necessity of pursuing dialogue and diplomacy in line with the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met with FM Ishaq Dar today to discuss the evolving regional circumstances amid the US Iran conflict.

“FM Dar emphasised that diplomacy and dialogue are the only feasible routes forward, underlining the urgent requirement for an immediate resolution of the conflict,” the statement said.

Earlier, during a telephone conversation with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, FM Dar highlighted the critical importance of peace and stability.
