The Sultan Ali Shukro Barkat Educational Foundation Scholarship has allocated an additional Rs25 million to its program aimed at deserving students of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
Furthermore, a new scholarship named the “Dr Abdul Hafeez Educational Foundation Scholarship” has been introduced, providing Rs2.5 million for UAF students.
Philanthropist Dr Pervez Sultan presented the cheques to UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali at his office, with the presence of Director Financial Assistance Dr Nazia Ehsan and Assistant Director Waqar Akber Khan during the event.
During his remarks, Dr Pervez Sultan emphasised that education serves as a strong instrument for transforming lives and societies, saying that it is a collective duty to support talented students who face financial challenges.
He expressed optimism that these scholarships would allow students to concentrate on their academic pursuits and contribute significantly to national development.
UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali appreciated the generous donation, describing it as a commendable initiative towards fostering inclusive education.
He noted that such philanthropic efforts are crucial in enhancing the academic landscape and uplifting deserving students.
He reiterated UAF’s commitment to providing equal opportunities, ensuring that financial limitations do not obstruct the educational paths of talented youth.
He mentioned that over 7,500 students are currently benefiting from various scholarships at UAF.
Additionally, he praised government scholarship initiatives and the support provided to deserving students, which would illuminate their lives and pave the way for a brighter future.
Director Financial Assistance Dr Nazia Ehsan stated that UAF is diligently working to establish a transparent and merit-based scholarship system to assist deserving students from all over the country.
