The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has announced the launch of a new program aimed at enhancing global freelancing opportunities of Pakistani engineers, in which 5000 engineers will be trained on Freelancing.
Under the Global Engineering Freelance Initiative, online training will be given to engineers along with information on how to work on International Freelancing websites. The program will also help participants to craft strong professional portfolios and find their first freelance projects.
PEC Chairman Engineer Wasim Nazir said the engineering sector is on the path to digital and remote work. He added that the initiative will open new opportunities for young engineers to access the global market.
The program will also feature an artificial intelligence-based career assessment to help evaluate participants’ skills. As per PEC, the initiative is supposed to increase the export of engineering services and aid in the foreign exchange generation for the country.
