Egypt’s Foreign Minister lands in Islamabad for key talks

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty arrived in Islamabad on Saturday for an official visit. Additional Foreign Secretary Syed Ahmed Maroof received the distinguished guest at the airport.

He is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, with discussions expected on bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

During the visit, he will hold consultations on regional developments and call on the Prime Minister. The visit reflects the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt and their continued coordination on regional and international issues.

Dr Abdelatty will participate in a four-party meeting focused on the regional situation. The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, where various issues, including efforts to reduce tensions in the region, will be discussed in detail.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the visit reflects the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt.

He added that, in view of the current situation in the Middle East, detailed consultations will be held with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt on key regional and global issues.

During the visit, the three visiting foreign ministers are also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss matters of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.
