The Government of Sindh has taken a major step to promote modern transport and technology by signing an important agreement for the EV (Electric Vehicle) taxi project.

Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon signed this agreement with Sindh Bank, Sindh Development Fund (SDF), and Sindh Mass Transit Authority, with the aim of promoting eco-friendly transport in the province.

Under the agreement, an EV taxi service will be introduced in Sindh, which will not only improve urban transport but also create new employment opportunities.

While addressing the ceremony, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government is going to fulfil the promises made to the youth and is striving to provide employment opportunities to them.

He said that such projects have been introduced in the transport sector of the province that have impressed many countries around the world, including the Pink Bus Service for women, which ensures safety for female passengers, while the launch of EV buses was also a unique initiative globally.

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that all these initiatives are part of the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The Sindh government has gained remarkable prominence in the transport sector.

In the Pink Bus, both the driver and conductor are women, which has been appreciated worldwide, while EV buses and Pink EV scooters were introduced in Pakistan for the first time.

He further said that the purpose of these initiatives is to empower women and bring them forward.

At the start of the Pink Scooties scheme, only 150 women had licenses, whereas now 20,000 women have applied for licenses.

The Sindh government is also providing free training to women so they can progress.

Addressing the ceremony, he further said that the purpose of the Pink EV taxi is to promote a sense of security among women.

It is necessary to provide women with a safe environment so that they can play their role in society.

Sharjeel Memon said that creating employment opportunities for youth is the responsibility of governments.

Employment opportunities are also being provided under this project. Whenever there is talk of purchasing vehicles, priority is given to EV vehicles.

EV vehicles are coming to Pakistan from different countries, and people are also preferring them.

He said that there is a desire to establish an EV vehicle manufacturing plant in Dhabeji Special Economic Zone. Industrialists should come forward in this regard.

The Senior Provincial Minister said that many claims were made regarding the respect of the green passport, but after India’s crushing defeat, it is now being viewed with respect around the world.

He said that Pakistan has an important role in the region. The Indian Foreign Minister is using unethical language, which is proof that they have run out of arguments.

He credited this success to national unity, the federal government, and the efforts of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

He said that all governments are considering the issue of inflation. Joint strategies are being formulated in this regard. Serious work is underway to control inflation.

In the end, he said that whether the situation is good or bad, no compromise should be made on matters related to the country.

Letters were written by PTI to the IMF asking that Pakistan should not be funded. The founder of PTI’s son should not say anything that harms Pakistan. Any statement that harms Pakistan is unacceptable.
