A roadside improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near Sabzi Mandi in Sarai Naurang, Lakki Marwat, targeting a police vehicle today.
Police officials said that 11 people were injured in the blast. The injured included four police personnel, among them the station house officer, as well as several civilians.
Earlier reports said three children were among the wounded. But updated reports say that four children were injured.

Hospital sources confirmed the casualties. One injured police officer was shifted from Sarai Naurang Hospital to Bannu for further treatment, according to the reports.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

South Waziristan Blast
Two policemen were martyred, and 22 people were injured in a South Waziristan Blast. The blast happened in Wana’s Rustam Bazaar area previously.
Immediately after the blast, local residents, police personnel, and rescue teams initiated relief operations and moved the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Wana Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Asghar Ali Shah said that the explosive material had been planted at the main entrance of the supermarket and was detonated through a remote control or a timed device.
Blast near Bannu police station
Before this, at least two innocent civilians were martyred, and 15 other injured in a powerful blast that occurred near the main gate of Miryan Police Station, Bannu.
According to the police, a heavy contingent arrived at the scene immediately following the incident. The injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.
Initial reports stated that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle.
