India inflames tensions to mask internal weaknesses: Khawaja Asif

Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that India’s repeated rhetoric around the anniversary of the false-flag operation in Pahalgam reflects not strength, but clear strategic anxiety.  He noted that the incident failed international scrutiny and exposed New Delhi’s reliance on self-created crises.

In a tweet on X, Khawaja Asif further emphasised that such threatening strategies are not new, but part of a predictable pattern in which internal weaknesses are projected externally, and tensions are deliberately inflamed for political gains under the guise of unsubstantiated allegations. It would be prudent for India to recall the resolute lessons previously taught by Pakistan during Marka e Haq.

The Defence Minister warned that history demonstrates the serious consequences of miscalculations, noting that the memories of the ‘Marka e Haq’ are still fresh. He clarified that any future response from Pakistan would be stronger, more decisive and more effective than before.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region, while stressing that its determination to defend sovereignty remains unwavering. ‘Preparedness is complete, and any aggression will be met with a swift, balanced, and decisive response,” he added. “Pakistan remains an advocate of peace and regional stability but stands in a state of absolute readiness. Any misadventure will be met with a decisive response that reaffirms our sovereign inviolability’ he mentioned.

Khawaja Asif mentioned that he had addressed Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, stating that even the slightest possibility of war between two nuclear states is a dangerous misunderstanding that could have disastrous consequences. He suggested that India should instead address the growing anxiety at its strategic and diplomatic levels.
