A fresh system of rain-bearing western winds is set to enter the country’s upper regions, according to the Meteorological Department. Over the next 24 hours, several cities are likely to experience thunderstorms, while snowfall is expected in mountainous areas. The wet spell is forecast to continue intermittently until April 17, bringing widespread rain across multiple regions.
Cities including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are expected to receive significant rainfall. Meanwhile, rain is also likely in major urban centres such as Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Sialkot.
In higher altitudes, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, snowfall is predicted, raising the possibility of travel disruptions in mountainous areas.
Authorities advise citizens to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions during this period.
It has further been stated that the Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in different parts of the country from April 13 to April 17.
