Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi appears to be trying hard to stay relevant after being sidelined from the peace talks in Islamabad.
Recently, Modi posted an 18-second video on X showing a small crowd at one of his rallies.
Sharing the clip, he wrote: “Some special moments before the rally begins in Siliguri. This frenzy of people towards the BJP is unimaginable!”
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
India was completely isolated from the talks despite longstanding political, economic and energy ties across the Middle East.
Many bloggers on X opined that New Delhi’s outreach to Abu Dhabi reflects an effort to remain diplomatically relevant in a rapidly shifting regional landscape where negotiations are unfolding without Indian participation.
Maintaining visibility with Gulf leadership allows India to highlight its strategic partnerships and reassure its people that they mean something.
