The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has shown its support for women entrepreneurs and microenterprises by facilitating their involvement in the ‘Made in Gujranwala’ exhibition, which took place at the Karachi Expo Centre.
This initiative follows the successful implementation of the inaugural Made in Pakistan SME Expo Showcase 2026 in Lahore, demonstrating a growing effort to promote local industry across key cities.
The three-day exhibition gathered over 100 companies from Gujranwala, showcasing a wide array of locally produced goods that underscored the city’s industrial capabilities and its increasing innovation base.
The exhibition showcased a variety of products such as home appliances, plastic furniture, ceramics, sanitary ware, kitchenware, and electrical goods, highlighting the diverse manufacturing base of Gujranwala.
Dedicated stalls were set up for women-led initiatives and businesses, presenting garments, jewellery, utensils, cutlery, organic products, and homemade items.
Throughout the three-day exhibition for women entrepreneurs, SMEDA’s help desk was operational, providing assistance to visitors and promoting engagement between buyers and sellers.
Additionally, the event acted as a platform to connect manufacturers with buyers and investors through business-to-business (B2B) engagement opportunities, fostering commercial connections and facilitating real-time order generation.
Made in Gujranwala Exhibition 2026
Previously, the ‘Made in Gujranwala Exhibition 2026’ was inaugurated by Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Nasir Hussain Shah, organised by the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
The opening signified a collaborative effort between public institutions and the private sector to highlight regional manufacturing strengths on a national level.
SMEDA further stated that the initiative seeks to increase visibility, improve market access, and foster direct engagement with buyers, allowing smaller enterprises to secure business agreements and broaden their reach beyond local markets.
Furthermore, SMEDA has been providing technical advisory services, training programs, and guidance on product development, branding, and compliance with international standards to assist SMEs in improving their competitiveness.
