A Lahore court has fixed April 22 for the indictment of renowned YouTuber Rajab Butt and his co-accused in a rape case. The hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Yasir Arafat in the Sessions Court, where Rajab Butt and other nominated individuals appeared.
During proceedings, the court distributed copies of the charge sheets and challans to the accused and summoned all parties for formal indictment at the next hearing.
Meanwhile, the petitioner argued before the court that the Nawab Town Police Station did not present the facts accurately when registering the case. She also requested that her interim bail be confirmed permanently.
The victim has alleged that the accused invited her to a house and raped her. The individuals named in the case include Rajab Butt, Jahangir, Jawad Ali, and Abdul Rehman. The case will be heard again on the scheduled date, when formal charges are expected to be filed.
It is worth mentioning here that vlogger Rajab Butt has once again become the subject of controversy. A video recently surfaced on social media claiming that Rajab Butt was with his son, which led many users to express happiness.
However, Iman Fatima clarified that the video is fake and was created using artificial intelligence (AI). She stated that the child shown in the video is not her son and emphasised that such content, made for personal gain, should be stopped.
She further alleged that the incident was planned, that the video was recorded and then deliberately leaked by Rajab. According to her, Rajab’s friends and cousins had only filmed a video of Keyvan for their social media content during Eid.
Iman Fatima also said that Rajab Butt had promised her, and had publicly stated in a podcast, that they would not bring their son into the media for several years. She added that the video was leaked by a third party, and presenting and using a one-time meeting with a child as a “beautiful memory” is not acceptable.
