As reported by WABetaInfo, Meta is currently testing a refreshed design for WhatsApp’s web client, which will introduce 49 unique chat themes.
In the past, the web version of WhatsApp has functioned mainly as a simple extension of the mobile application, lacking the advanced features of an app.
This design approach has often led to the removal of major interface updates, with the primary focus being on message synchronisation and stability.
Nevertheless, the report from WABetaInfo indicates that Meta is making waves to add more sophisticated theme options into the web client of the messaging application.
These new themes not only alter the background but also modify the color of your message bubbles to align with the overall aesthetic.
For WhatsApp Web users who prefer to list down their chats by color, this update will offer a wide range of chat themes.
New WhatsApp Web feature includes wide range of vibrant themes
With nearly 50 choices available, ranging from gentle pastels to vibrant, eye-catching hues, users will have more than enough options.
It is important to note that these new changes will only be visible on your own screen.
Therefore, if you choose to set your chat window to a deep purple, your friends or colleagues will not be able to see this change. Your design preferences will remain secret.
The feature has not been officially launched yet and remains unavailable in the beta version.
Meta has not provided a release date as of yet. However, users can expect the introduction of the new chat themes feature in future WhatsApp Web beta updates.
