Web desk: The Punjab government has announced that salaries and pensions for all government employees and pensioners will be released early on Friday, October 31, 2025, due to the upcoming weekend holidays on November 1 and 2.

The Punjab government has made an important announcement for government employees and pensioners; this time, salaries and pensions will be paid earlier than usual.

Early Payment of Salaries and Pensions

A notification issued by the Punjab Finance Department said that October salaries and pensions will be released on Friday, October 31, 2025.

The notification states that since Saturday and Sunday, which are November 1 and 2, are official holidays, this decision was taken to ensure timely payment.

In a letter signed by Section Officer (FR) Muhammad Yunus, the Accountant General of Punjab and all district accounts officers have been directed to complete the process of payment of salaries and pensions by October 31.

This circular has also been sent to all administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners and heads of subordinate departments.

In addition, the Registrar Lahore High Court, District and Sessions Judges, Governor and Chief Minister’s offices have also been informed of this decision.

The Roshan Maeeshat Electricity Package

In a separate measure, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a “Roshan Maeeshat Electricity Package” for the development of the country’s industry and agriculture.

Under it, additional electricity will be provided at concessional rates for the next three years. This package will be effective until October 2028.

The Prime Minister made this announcement during a meeting with experts and business representatives from the industrial and agricultural sectors.

He said that the government has decided to provide additional electricity to industries and farmers at low rates so that production can increase and new employment opportunities can be created.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that currently, additional electricity is being provided to the industrial sector at the rate of Rs 34 per unit and the agricultural sector at the rate of Rs 38 per unit.

However, under the new package, this electricity will be provided at a concessional rate of Rs 22.98 per unit for the next three years.
