Punjab announces new update for motorcycle riders

Lahore’s traffic police have increased the enforcement measures by assigning new daily challan targets to wardens across the city on Monday.

According to the reports, the traffic wardens across the city have been ordered to issue at least 25 challan tickets per day.

The new instructions were shared by SP Traffic Lahore, Zafar Abbas Naqvi, with DSPs and sector in-charges.

New rules for traffic staff

Under the new policy, the lifter in charge must now issue 10 challans each day. Previously, the number was of 5 challans each day.

In addition to this, traffic wardens will set up special checkpoints to check driving licenses. Daily records of challans and license checks will also be monitored.

SP Zafar Abbas said that a strict action will be taken against officers who show laziness or negligence. He further told the senior officers to identify such staff.

Officials who fail to meet their targets can also be removed from field duty and sent to offices, according to the reports.
