Controversial TikTok personality Kashif Zameer is again in the news for negative reasons, as a new fraud case was filed against him at the Gulberg police station in Lahore yesterday.
The TikToker has been accused of cheating a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officer out of Rs1.9 million.
The complainant, Dost Muhammad, who works with the CTD in Karachi, has said that Zameer took the money by promising to arrange a visa and travel to Italy.
Further, he said that they had become friends on TikTok about two years ago, adding that Zameer even stayed at his house in Karachi.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) against him, Muhammad gave around Rs2 million to Zameer a year ago to help him go to Europe.
After taking the money, Zameer had stopped answering his calls, the report complained.
Police officials have said that they are carrying out raids to arrest him and expect to take him into custody soon. For this purpose, a raid was also conducted at his house in the DHA area of Lahore.
Muhammad said that he waited for a long time, but no travel arrangements were made. When Zameer stopped responding to his calls, he realised he had been cheated.
TikToker Kashif Zameer
This is not the first time TikToker Zameer has been in trouble. He is known for showing off a luxurious lifestyle on social media.
Last year, he was arrested by the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Iqbal Town along with 13 guards after videos showed them displaying weapons in public.
The TikToker later issued a video statement in which he apologised to the public and admitted to his mistake.
There were also claims that the gold chain he wore was fake, which was discussed on a TV show by Fiza Ali, where he appeared.
He challenged viewers that he would pay Rs1 million if they were able to prove his gold chains were fake.
Fizza Ali took up the challenge and invited a jeweller on the live show. The jeweller tested the gold and declared it fake.
